I store all my files on a centralized server (Synology DS-101j) at home. Therefore, all my files are available from any computer in my homenetwork. The last upgrade (patch) available for the DS-101j allows me to create an Itunes Server on my NAS server. This means that you can define an MP3 folder on your DJ-101j, that is shared accross your network through Itunes.
- You can access your shared music library from any Itunes connected on your network
- The audio streaming through Itunes is much better in terms of speed rather than using a music player over the nextwork, accessing your files (like winamp or windows media player).
As I had already posted on this blog, Synology servers (NAS) offer many very interesting features for a multimedia use at home, and very easy to use.
